Procedures for Sending Security Documents to Federal Student Aid for the FISMA Review Process - 03/06/09

The PIA can be sent through e-mail and does not require any encryption.

All the other security documents must either be sent through a secure carrier, where the package can be tracked, or they can be sent through e-mail as long as the documents are encrypted using WinZip 256 bit encryption.

For your information we have included the FSA land shipping policy.

For those companies who choose to use e-mail, Federal Student Aid will be sending each company a unique password that must be used for the encryption process.
